MY DIARY
|
14th January 2006
Fitted my Wiseco piston kit, now a 1040 cc.
|
8th January 2006
Started to strip down engine ready for big bore kit installation.
Those cylinder head bolts are a pain in the arse, these bolt slook similar to mini igloos.
and are tightend using hex bar (allen key), these were on so tight that I twisted 3 x 6mm allen keys
so went to Halfords to get a set of Hex sockets, got home but they were too short, so if anyone
intends to take off the cylinder hea don there ace, make sure that you have a really good 6mm hex socket
that is at least 2inch in length.
Got head and barrels off, this engine was in a burnt out bike and I knew it was low mileage, the shock, wheels
and other bits that normally suffer from road shit were all very very clean, the inside of the engine also
confirmed this as well, photos will be in gallery by 10th January 2006.
|
10th December 2005
Escaped from the DIY stuff for a couple of hours so decided to do some work on the bike.
Fitted my Nitrous Oxide bottles, just fot perfectly under the seat and when seat and panel is on you cant tell they are there.
|
23rd November 2005
Haven't touched bike for a month now, been too busy doing DIY (keep er in doors happy!!!).
Will start building back to gether soon though, also getting panels ready to be painted.
|
29th October 2005
Rolling chassis sort of together (Gallery), still need rear wheel bearing fitting.
|
22nd October 2005
Went to look at my frame and wheels today, will pick up on Monday (See gallery).
|
8th October 2005
Bought a set of Keihin 39mm Flatslide carbs from Ebay (See gallery).
|
24th September 2005
Ordered an Ohlins rear shocker (46HRCLS) from Vimori Racing at Luddenden Foot.
|
22nd September 2005
I want to get the rolling chassis started before end of September, stripped everything off frame.
Removed bearings from wheels and swingarm, be careful as these are bastards to get out.
The bearings in the swingarm just collapsed leaving outer casing still in
Had to take them down to an engineers shop, MH7 at Brighouse to get them out.
The allen bolts that hold the disks on must have had about 20 litres of locktite put in there
these also had to be taken out by the engineering firm.
|
1st Sept 2005
Purchased a complete front end from Trent (Promised to keep in touch with him) near London for £340, this includes the fllowing:
All hydraulics inc reservoir tanks
Basically this is a complete front end, bolt off, bolt on ready to go.
|
2nd July 2005 to 5th September 2005
Decided to pull a wheelie on my Bandit 1200 on a short road.
Fucked up!!!, crashed the bike, broke my right knee cap and dislocated my right shoulder - doh!!!.
|
2nd June 2005
Decided to get a complete rear wheel for a Fazor1000 and try that from Ken Urwin Motorcycles at Thorne.
This fits straight into the Thunderace swingarm but there is one problem...
The spacers are all wrong, they fit but seem to be too thin, So I had some made, fitted them but hey up,
I measured them up wrong and still need another spacer, shame cos the brake torque arm from
the Fazor seemed to line up with the existing T-ace bracket on the swingarm, ****see this picture here****.
|
18th May 2005
Decided not to polish the frame and swingarm but have them painted matt black instead
Recieved the Fazer1000 rear disk and this is way out, ok £40 blown there then, better get it back on Ebay.
|
27th April 2005
New (second hand) frame arrived, will get this cleaned and polished within next few weeks.
May even have a go at polishing it myself.
Placed a bid on Ebay for a Fazer1000 rear disk to se if the rear caliper conversion works.
|
23rd April 2005
Started website and getting some other stuff together, I am going to have a go at polishing my own
stuff but will leave frame and swingarm to the 'Experts'. Also getting pictures ready for this site
and hopefully getting a database sorted so I can start a forum.
